Title: front brake hose routing?
Post by: supernutt on August 29, 2013, 07:57:48 PM
Working on the laeger and putting on the front brakes.  I am not sure how to route the front brake hoses.  They seem way too long?  These were on my parts quad so they were not real pretty.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

The tee usually mounts to the center tab right below it?  Or maybe further forward to clear the pipe.

There are tabs midway on your upper a-arms where they should be attached also. You might have +2 lines for extended a-arms.

I figured that.  I will have to make a bracket for it to work.   If I mounted it that way, the hose to the front master cylinder would point forward towards the bumper or backwards towards the pipe.  i assume it needs to point strait up?   And if I mount the T in that spot, the front hoses out to the calipers will be WAY too long!! I would have to make a loop somewhere to take up the extra.  Do they get wider than this thing?  I know it is a narrow frame but with +4 arms it should be pretty darn wide.

The t mounts flat bud, so mine is pointing forward, let me get you a pic man and I will post it up or text me supernutt. 269-362-2458

Here you go supernutt, your mounting point is on top of the frame tube and mine is underneath. I had to add a spacer so the T and the fittings weren't hitting the frame rail.
The first pic is from underneath to show you how it goes.

Got it mostly figured out now.  Put brake hoses on a arms with alba clamps (which I will not recommend to anyone) and then noticed that the line going to the front master cyinder was too short. SO I had to make an L bracket to move the hose T up higher and point it strait up.
