Some of you guys here and on .net told me how to do this and even put up some pics for me.
Basically took an aluminum block cut it down with a vice and a sawzall "dont have a band saw"
Marked the holes, dented them so the bit wouldnt walk and slowly drilled up to size..
None of the stores around here actually stock a whole lot of stainless hex headed bolts like the rest of the bike has so i had to settle for these..
Let me know what you all think, its not cranked down or anything but you get the idea,
now my bar clamps clear the tank enough to turn, the tank is mounted back a bit also though..
had the holes drilled when i bought it, i forgot who i got it from someone on here
what brand of tank is it does anyone know? :gorilla: :pride:

In my parts find I went and bought, I found a stem clamp spacer in the big bin of parts. Someone must have done the same thing back in the day, it appears that they took a stock clamp and cut it down so they didn't have to mark and drill the hole in it. But good job and the bolts look fine man.

I cant tell what type you have. I was told that I do not need a +1 steering stem to have bar clearance on a 4 gallon clark tank. I was planning on mounting one I bought on here this weekend for a trip to the Baldwin trails next week. Were you having clearance problems without the spacer? I hope I do not need to go hunting a aluminum spacer down next week :confused::confused:

The stock stem is +something forward. trx88's stem is a plus zero. You can elongate the tank mounts to slide it back some. Then maybe just a washer or two will do it.

I thought the plus system went up from stock. My stem is stock I thought. Not sure thought. It would run and ride without the spacer but It needed the spacer.
I hope it doesnt wreak havoc with the fun going on at the bottom end of the stem. This tank had another hole drilled in the mount already which I used.
We shall see how it all goes Ill update post.
Bolts for those holes are m8 x 1.25 pitch.
