Post by: sameltoe on September 25, 2013, 11:57:17 PM
Anybody else here own a rzr?

This one's an 08 800, houser +4 arms, custom axis w/remote rezzi's in the cab. Hipers with tire balls, Custom cage, gusseted frame with full body skid. And a fresh crate motor... couldn't believe it has stock exhaust.

I Might be getting this one, I should know tomorrow night wether or not...

After I get done buying another house I will be picking one up for my wife. Thinking of a stock RZR S. Or one that has been modded but it will have to be super clean.

My buddy just got a Rhino that is all fixed up, and I can't believe how smooth it runs through the dunes. Goes pretty quick for a Rhino as well.

These machines are really cool and i'd buy one in a second if I could....but I hate them......both of my XC racing buddies sold their 450r's and bought these. Now I have no one to race with :(

Bought my 08 totaled. Got around 5k into it now. Keep in mind 08 was the first year and there are some common issues that should have been addressed already with that machine. I love mine, haven't rode my quad on the trails in a month now. However I did hop on my buddy buddys  450 last weekend, and couldn't get enough of it either lol.

check compression before buying make sure you have at least 150psi (just to verify for yourself about it being fresh) these things are not cheap to rebuild!! the `08 models had some intake issues pull the filter and check for dust particles in intake, check ball joints, a arm bushings, axles for play, the reason for the stock exhaust is there is no use to spend the money for hardly if any gain. i spent $800+ on full system with fuel contrller and couldnt tell 1 bit of improvement in power + the noise was horrible sold it and went back to stock after 2 rides. start researching rzrforums.net lots of good info what kind of price are they asking.if you ride tight trails the wider a arms will be more of a hinderence than help where we ride me and 2 others with 50" rzrs are constantly haveing to wait on the 2 guys that went out and bought 900XPs when its open trails they can pull ahead but as soon as it tightens back up were pushing them out of the way. im on my 4th rzr now if you have any more questions i can help you find the answers.

I have a 2009 RZR-S, bought it for my wife at the time. (Now ex-wife.) She barely used it, so I would take it out from time to time. I have to admit, the thing is a blast. Amazing how crazy you get when you have a cage around you! While I would never get rid of my quads and have just a UTV, I do enjoy the thing. Plus, like Dan mentioned, "with age comes a cage" so someday when I am ready to quit racing quads, I know what I will race next!

Check this site out, Extreme Promotions .com
My son is promoting a series here on the east coast for these side by sides. It is at the ground level right now, you know, everything has to start in Cali & work its way east, but we are expecting it to get big as time goes.
Lot of the dealers are jumping in as well with support, where as in other types of racing they are backing out, so its coming.

One thing I can tell you about the side by sides, COOLING, keep that engine cool, what ever you got to do to aid in that.

It's sounds like your promoting 4-strokes, Neil. :sign0105:

Yeah, it kinda does look like that, but trust me, if its something to ride & you got to straddle the engine, foot on each side, if I have anything to do with it, it will be a 2 stroke & danhung11 I know your right cause them things should have had a 2 strokes in them.
Just think what a 1000cc 2 stroke side by side would be like.
