Nice! I didnt even think about garlic, good idea! I planted husky cherry, better boy and roma toms, jalaps, red bell peppers and hot cayenne's. The Roma plants are huge! Ive been picking atleast two tomato's a day,and have a few jalaps about a week away.

My neighbor planted mint a couple of years ago. Well mint is the devil plant, only thing I have seen take over ivy. I hate my ivy, but I hate the mint even more. I need to take it all out.

My son planted strawberries in a planter. He loves to water them then pick and eat.

We have a huge garden. Green beans, potatoes, different types of squash. tomatoes, green/red peppers. corn. pumpkins.

The best fertilizer is mulched leaves roto-tilled in during the spring, all the leaves I mulch up into our zero-turn's bagging system go right in the garden. Come spring you'll have perfect soil. We also have a huge compost pile that gets tilled in.

Thats a good idea about the compost,we need to get a pile started. This was our first garden as a family, next year we will expand. I planted everything in tires this year, next year I will plant a cedar raised bed. I used all organic dirt, mulch and fertilizer, the fert. is actually earthworm casings. Seems to be working good,Ive been eating toms for 2 weeks now,and the jalapenos are almost ready! I will put the jap plants inside over the winter and replant next year.

I have a jalapeno, habanero and strawberry plant growing. Just picked the first habaneros the other night. Have my second harvest of jalapenos growing right now! No strawberries have grown yet, but the plant is HUGE!

I love hot stuff! I have a plan to make some bacon wrapped stuffed habaneros, like most people do with jalapenos. I hope they come out good!

Envy you guys up north. I lived in Indiana when I was a kid. We always had a big garden. Down here, in this heat, the only thing that grows is okra. Enjoy those veggies! :joyous:

Well, I'm not much of a gardener but most of my neighbors are. Hundreds and hundreds of these five leaved plants that are about 7 feet tall and smell like @$$. I just love living in the California foot hills were weed is everywhere and junk food is scarce.

My house however is where cacti come to die. Yes, true statement, I can't even grow a cactus. But my neighbor's house is paid off, along with his toyhauler, boat, jet skis, quads, long travel rail, teryx, RZR, three duramax's, and god knows what else.

The guy doesn't even have a job for gods sake..... aaargh!!! I hate not being a pot head!!!!
