OK, I emailed OMF Peformance about what the stance was in making another run of these again. There was a thread on this on the "other" site awhile back but I am making a thread here about it. Daraugh "Bones" Flynn emailed me back saying they have a total of 12 names including mine people who are interested. They need a total of atleast 50 Names in order to make another run of these. Now its fine to list here that your interested, but if your serious about it, CALL THEM! Tell them your full name and info so that they know that your interested! I am going to spread the word on .net and .org sites because I definitely want to purchase on these brackets. So again, if your interested, call OMF at 951-354-8272 or email Bones. His email is bones@omfperformance.com.

I have 4 different styles of the OMF knob. I sent one to Douglas but he did not get anyone to make them. I think all we need is the simple one. I can send one but I think the members should make a decision which one they want.

I didn't know OMF made 4 different styles of knobs.....Which ever is the most popular style, If I had something to go buy I'd be happy to make the first one on the house.

Cool thanks pumashine....like I said, If you or anyone has something for me to go buy ill make them the first one free.
-
pumashine could probably make his own version that would resolve all issues.

Wasn't there a suitable knob found already, I thought just the base needed to be made?

John, it is more of a machine shop job. Just need a lathe. Drill and tap the center hole. It gets a bevel shape of the rubber. Parted and then some like the pin holes for fastening them so they don't get lost.
-
I was actually talking to a shop that is local to me yesterday about making this as well as some other parts.
He has a HAAS CNC lathe and a Mill. Also has a laser table and water jet as well. He seemed interested in making some stuff.
-
ok. i thought he meant the whole latch. sorry for confusing things.
i made my own knobs at my last job.

Yes, you are right John. The OP is trying to get OMF to make another run. The knobs and the posts are the expensive part.

here is what the knob looks like:
sorry for the bad pic. this knob is an original OMF. I believe all the other knobs that everyone is seeing are home made.
Trx250r: I sent you a PM.

Are those threaded? If so what is the thread size? How tall are they?
-
Those are 1 9/6" tall. There is about 5/16"-3/8" of 5/16 threads in the small end

The one on the left were from another company at $5 each. we got some for the knobs that have been lost.

Well I am going to take my 86 base down to the shop here and have something built.
Thinking of just buying these.

86-87 base. Trx250r we are needing the posts also.

If you were to make knobs and posts I can make the base and put the rivets in. The threads are 1 1/2" Stainless set screw that are locktited in place.

Bump, yea OMF is trying to make another run of these but Bones said he needed atleast 50 people, and as I said previously, they only have 12 names present, unless anyone has called them since I started this thread. When I emailed them, Bones was wondering what the status was, cause he said that he was aware of another thread on one of the forums sites were stating they had interest. They will make the entire latch, Base & knobs, a complete kit. I will definitely be buying a complete latch from them directly if they get enough interest. I will keep you guys updated when I contact OMF again to see if anything has changed. Thanks.
