I saw some nice alba nerfs on ebay with heel guards for a good price, so i messaged them asking for R nerfs to which they replied no. They said i was only the second to ask in a few years. I told them just because nobody really calls, it doesnt mean people arent on ebay everyday typing in "trx250r nerf bars". Anyway, after some messages back and forth, they agreed to make some for trx250rs if i could find someone in the sandiego area who would loan their R for mock up. If anyone in that area is willing to let team alba use their quad to mock up nerfs with heel guards for Rs, let me know and ill get the guy from albas name and number...
-
This was my first quad...and I went with Alba's for nerfs. I liked these alot. But I dont miss the raptor lol. Never had a problem with the quality either.
-
These are the nerfs they need a 250R there to make. 180 shipped is what these run
-
Yes we need those for 180 shipped. We need to get an 86 and a 88-89 over there. 86 over 87 due to that extra bottom brace in the front nerf cross over area.
-
Bump. Need someone in the sandiego area to bring their R to alba...
-
Yes, I would love a set of those! That would be awesome! Someone volunteer! lol
-
I would buy a set with heel guards!!

Surely, there is someone is California that would be willing to do this. It shouldn't take much for them to make some. The 450R versions of those are close to fitting the 86 model frames already.

Get you get the exact details of the install bud?
-
so we were talking about, what he did was make a stand in an "L" to hold the guards hell (the hell guards with the frame) then had no problems ...
when he saw these albumnes and saw how easy it was they buy

Well thats pretty damn easy! Thanks for posting that.

I would be highly interested in a set for an 86R setup. Would the foot pegs be included?

Sky, this style is a propeg setup. The foot pegs are integrated into the design.
-
I bolted a set on my 86 250r and they bolted right up no problem or customizing
-
Yeah, but like in the pics, you need to make brackets to support the heel guards to the frame.

Sign me up. But Chicago to sandiego is a bit far for a mockup. Keep us posted!
-
I just threw it out there. Unless someone near san diego comes forward willing, theres nothing to keep you guys posted about. Fortunitely its an easy install on 250r as seen in the pics above.

I just bought a set yesterday. The tab on top of the heel guard is meant to mount to the plastic anyway.
-
Do you have a pic of them mounted up?
-
Do you have a pic of them mounted up?
Yes, Victork, post a pic when you get them mounted. Give us your feedback.
-
I will but those pics were posted in this thread already
-
Since i first asked alba about these nerfs ive explained to them the process and how easy it is to put on the R. Cody at alba put $50 in my palpal for helping him out because they werent aware before! If you guys buy a set tell them youre buying them to put on your 250r! Ill have pics of mine mounted fri night
-
Got my nerfs today, even nicer in person. They do bolt right up. Theres only one issue i encountered, the hole under the peg where a bolt goes through to lock the nerf on the mounting plate is off. I drilled mine but i just sent cory from alba a message offering to mark the mounts where the hole needs to be drilled and send them back we will see. I think im gonna contact esr about a -1 brake lever and shifter as these nerfs sit back one inch.

Are they lower then stock as well or stock height?
-
They seem to be stock height but i didnt measure height
-
Could you check that for referance? That is a very important piece of intel if available.
Thanks

Are you going to show pics of the install?
-
I suppose i can seeing as only one side is on. Other than the that bolt hole being off a little its true bolt on. Im off to work in a min but i will tomorrow.
-
Yeah, but like in the pics, you need to make brackets to support the heel guards to the frame.
Let me know what brackets you need made.
-
From what i was told, the brackets are only fender supports.
-

Measuring from the center of the top peg bolt to the deck i got 1in on both the albas and a stock peg so they are stock height and 1in back. Ill try to get mounting pics tomorrow.
-
Never had time to get pics mounting them because pics look bad in my garage. They bolted right up in the front and back. I had to drill the hole where the bolt goes through under the peg thats it. Keep in mind youll need a shorter shifter/brake pedal.

Alba is offering nerfs with heel guards for the 86-87 with instructions on how to mount on ebay. Just thought I would throw it out there.
-
do you know if they make a set that are the 2'' longer so they will be able to have the front tube and mount to the front motor mount?i would love to get a set for my son for next year.
-
I think they only come one way because they are 450 nerfs. I didnt think id like the peg sitting back but they feel awesome riding. I got alba to list them on ebay btw.
-
Nice work man...they look really good too!
-
I wasnt the first theres lots that have albas all i did was put cory at alba on to them retro fitting the R...
-
Update....Took my 88 to Cory for mock up 3 weeks ago. Picked it up today with new Alba nerfs and they are ready for sale. They have 11 sets ready to go right now. The price is $230 but will be lowered once they get the footpegs so they don't have to fab them in house. Cheers to Alba for supporting our classic hot rods of the ATV world(http://imageshack.us/a/img585/5503/lrh2.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/585/lrh2.jpg/)(http://imageshack.us/a/img32/3766/l4q.JPG) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/32/l4q.JPG/)(http://imageshack.us/a/img585/267/5ekp.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/585/5ekp.jpg/)(http://imageshack.us/a/img593/9379/7j8s.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/593/7j8s.jpg/)

I was just talking to Cory about the Alba 400ex a-arms on my 250R the other day and he didn't realize how easy they were to make fit. He said they had a 250r there now and he was going to check it out. It must have been yours. He gave me a killer deal on a complete bushing kit for the front. Alba is definitely a great company and their a-arms are awesome because they come with adapters that let you run standard travel shocks or you can remove the adapter and run long travel shocks.
-
Cory defenitely is a decent guy to deal with imo and i love the nerfs, they look great but perform even better!
-
Great to have these avail for the 250r. Thanks alba.
-
This is great news!! Thanks alba and we need to send them a calender for next year!!
-
The Alba stuff is pretty nice. I installed a set of their 400ex arms on R last year. just had to make some spacers. still running 450 shocks, Haven't bought the long travels yet.
