Title: YFZ450 front brake setup
Post by: Vroomy on November 02, 2013, 11:29:36 PM
hi i know a few of you on here have done the YFZ front brake upgrade, im in the process of it on my bike but i have a set of stainless brake lines to suit my +3 arms and they dont really want to fit right? i think the angles on the ends are wrong cos i have to twist them too far and they get a bad kink. Is there a better line to use? maybe the YFZ ones?

I used yfz dual lines on my first setup, worked great. Using the 400ex single to dual now with no issues also, but I did have to loosen the lines at the "Y" to get the kink out then retightened. I can take a pic of the line mounted to the caliper tomorrow to see the angle if you need

Vroomy I think +3 would be just fine,I think mine were +2 yfz lines with +3 arms and +1 stem. Measure the length of your lines, I THINK yfz +2's are 54",if I remember right, and would probly work depending on the height of the bars.

Same here.  Just installed +2 yfz streamlines (3 piece) on mine and they have plenty if not too much length for the arms.  I have a standard length stem and +3 arms.  If I were to do it again, which I probably will, I may go with the two line setup.
