jcsoo3 wanted to see some sprocket guards developed. This one for the front is to be used if you do not have an OEM sprocket cover. This is a 3 1/2" stainless steel cover made of .o6o" thickness. There is a 2" diameter aluminum spacer behind it to keep the chain from hitting the guard. This was just a quick Prototype. Was not sure if adding in speed holes was going to be all right. Will ad some speed holes a little later. This is just an idea. Wanted to know what anyone thinks should be done.

So that would spin with the sprocket? Seems like you'd still have to worry about catching a pant leg in between that and the chain. What about integrating one with your case saver?

Yes, it would spin. But better than having nothing at all. Making a complete guard like OEM is alot of work = alot of money.

Pretty!!
(Note... Dont you hate it when your new engine finish gets chipped???)
-
That's because he didn't powdercoat those the proper OEM Honda way. Rookie
And yeah, speed holes for the win. Make it look like a 6shooter cylinder.
-
Not for me, these seems even more dangerous than the exposed chain sprocket

Could be, that's why Rupp250 is getting a free set for product development. With speed holes I might add.

have you got to work on a rear sprocket and rotor guard?

Are those supposed to bolt to the sprocket hub. You replace the sprocket hub bolts with longer ones?

Do you put them on one side or both?
-
Here's a picture of mine. It's on both sides but they do make them for just one side.

What kind of bolt is used? Do you have a pic of the other side?

I'm at work till tomorrow morning but ill take some detail pics tomorrow. It's a Allen head bolt that's recessed into the pâté on the back.
-
Great, thats makes sense!

i say speed holes. what are you guys wearing when riding ? getting you pant leg caught up int it flared bell bottoms ?

Thats what I thinking but that goes back to the 80's. I wear full leather mad max alpine-stars.

not my riding gear, but debris from the track/trail - pebbles, rocks, twigs, sticks etc. couple years ago I managed to get some pine bark wedged between the front sprocket and case saver. killed the motor, nearly threw me over the bars, and cracked the upper case saver mounting hole.
-
I like the idea. I'd definately need a new shiny bolt though. I don't think a crusty original would look to good. I'd also be in for a rear. I've wanted one for awhile, but don't really care for blingstar as a company. I'll be in whenever you get them straight.

I wipped this up in Paint for ya. Feel free to copy my design.:jumping0041:

Lookin good, you going to put them on the site?

That makes it all come together 6 shooter. Very cool, and I would not be surprised if you get some calls on those that's for sure.

After we try them out on your bike, LOL. The product needs to be tested. I am thinking the spacer is almost going to have to be 5/16" thick. The chain is just touching with the 1/4" spacer. The OD is going to be 3 3/4" which will cover a 15 tooth sprocket.

man you can slice turkey for my sandwich with that too!!! yummy and in 6th gear easy cleaning!!!
-
I think it looks awesome
That would look good on a dune bike
I wouldn't be worried about getting my leg caught on it
I don't think I have had my leg or foot that close to the sprocket anyways

I haven't ran a sprocket guard for years. I just want to add some style.
