Title: My New Cyclops Penetrator 625 Lights
Post by: mrmoto on July 06, 2013, 10:11:25 PM
They run off DC and/or battery but I have the '01 CR250 ignition so I am running it off battery only. I mocked them up yesterday real quick after work and then finished it up this morning. The bracket they come with is patterned for a dirt bike handlebar clamp so I had to whip up and mounting plate that the bracket bolts to since stock ATC bar clamps are so far apart. I kept all my machinist tools but I no longer have access to one damn machine so I made the plate with a cheap jig saw, a hack saw, a cordless drill, and a bench grinder. For material I cut off a piece of a framing square hahaha I ran the battery cable all the way to the back through the existing harness hangers on the frame and into the tool box which will hold the batteries. I am pretty happy with it so far.

HAHAHAHA I was talking to my father last night and one of the things he said was "do you know how long I had that framing square, son of a *****!" lol we were having a funny conversation about that framing square. My father was the person who drove me to the Honda dealer 28 years ago to buy that ATC brand new. He also took me out the very first time I rode since I was between trucks. Then came and stayed the weekend with me and helped me assemble and fire it during my recent restore of it. It sat for 20 something years and even he said "I didn't think you would ever bother putting that ATC back together"

Nice History!!
My son built a 350x from the ground up a few years ago. I had the privilege of helping him. Great memories.

Tried getting some night pictures but they didn't come out well. Just download the manual for the camera and will go through it tomorrow.

Darrel from Cyclops called me out of the blue just know. He wanted to follow up with me and make sure everything was working properly and that I am happy with my purchase. He is a rider so it was a friendly, informal conversation. He is a really cool guy.

I have to say I would rather spend a little more money for this kind of experience. I bought a very high quality product and the man that sold it to me is standing right behind it making sure I am 100% satisfied. Doesn't get much better then that!

They have good distance down my street lol. 3000 Lumen. Haven't had them out yet. I am hoping to do some night riding at Pismo around the first of the month. I also need to finish jetting it and I am going to be looking closer at the porting but I wanna ride it when it is jetted right first so I will be getting it out there very soon and will let you know

I have a feeling you will be very impressed with the light output. I have Rigid Duallys on my truck and they are BRIGHT. They make my highbeams seem like they are not on.  I only wonder about battery life. Being leds they should last longer then a halogen, just not sure how long.

I have thought of running a small led on mine and using a r/c car lipo battery.

They claim 5 hours runtime. I am going to buy another set of batteries once I have run them at night and have confirmed they are what I want. But yeah so far what I have seen at home they are very bright. http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/?page=products&id=164

I have a combination of the following. 4 610's in the middle and the 2 outside's are 625
610 is a 10deg beam pattern
625 is a 25 deg beam pattern
