Title: Trx250r Resi clamps
Post by: Pumashine on November 30, 2013, 11:28:23 AM
The resi clamps are made from 6061 Aluminum 1/2" thick. One side has a clearance hole for a 6mm bolt. The other side is tapped for the 6mm thread Honda uses on out quads. After fabrication the part is bead blasted for a consistent bare aluminum finish. So the surface is porous and perfect for paint color of your choice. Some sort of paint is recommended to help easily clean the surface down the road.If you like the natural  look clear is a good choice. Most of you racing prefer flat black. If you want them polished you will have to let me know before ordering.

The ones below with the square OEM frame rectangular notches are designed for mounting up front between the shocks or behind the radiator. The ones with the round cutouts are for 1" aftermarket frames. You will have to measure your resi's to find out what size you need to order. So far the sizes cut are 1 15/16" or 50mm, 2" and 2 1/4". Not all resi's are the same from the same brand as well as different brands. So at this point it is best to measure your resi with a dial caliper if available and give me the dimension. Will also need to know what the frame tube size you are mounting to.
To keep these affordable the bare finished is offered a $10 a clamp. 2 clamps are recommended per resi. Shipping will be the flat rate box at $8

What you all have been waiting for Rear resi clamps. One member wants to get rid of his OEM clamp set up off the frame. So these will take the place of them on the OEM frame.

A side view to show how they line up with existing OEM set up.

Then there are the after market frames made with 3/4" tubing do these were developed. And maybe the 3 wheeler frames.

I desperately need that for my OEM frame OEM rear resi. When I powder coated my frame I stripped all the OEM brackets off thinking I could easily find a clamp. Wasn't so easy so now I have rubber and two zip ties for a resi clamp.

I always build an extra set when doing the first run so I got you covered. At first I though who the heck would ever take these off. Then I remembered my brother one day cutting everything off with the intention of making it lighter. I am sure others have been damaged or broken. In time I am sure to have a stock of everything everyone needs.

I have an extra set of the size shown above for stock frame with stock resi. Its too early to put them on the site. I have made 10 different sizes so far. Just PM me what size you need and your paypal address and I will send you an invoice. You can pay whenever you get the funds or go a different route. I know what size the stock ressi's are but each brand uses a different mold. Some brands even has 3 different sizes for different applications. Clamps are $10 each and $7 to ship. The set pictured above was $27 shipped.

Just have to measure your resi diameter to know what size to cut. Thr jet was down for awhile but its back up to spec. I have 3 existing orders and usually cut as many as possible in a run.

I have got to get the older orders finished up first before I jump ahead. I have done those ones you would like in the pic. Not a problem. The water jet is a high maintenance machine. Its broke down more than it works. I will get Mikes shipped and you and the next guys started. Must be 10 guys on FB that are waiting. I work on members stuff first. Members here are high priority.

I need some more clamps. You made me some for the OEM ressi on sub frame. Now I put my new shock on and it has the ressi up front.  The old clamps fit the elka ressi bit not the frame. U can see in the picture it's mounted to the down tube behind radiator. (http://forums.trx250r.org/vbulletin_imports/42_6702_2017-04-18_661.jpg)

These are for a rear elka shock. The rear OEM ressi and rear Elka ressi are the same diameter. I put the clamps you made for me for the OEM rear around the rear  Elka ressi and it fits perfectly.

Well I didn't expect that you would remember my clamps but I did expect you would remember the OEM ressi size as the first time you made them you knew the OEM size. I figured it would be the same this time. My ressi is 2.245". Thanks

So this guy wants clamps made and never gives me the cut size. I am so tired of the important people (in their minds) and the equally stupid peeps on face book I cannot make these anymore. Now if your are a real member here just send me the resi diameters and we will get stuff done! For example

The message they sent you was:

I'm needing two clamps both for a stock frame. I'll get sizes for you sometime today. But wanted to be sure you would want to make them.

Thanks,
Gene
