Title: Roll Skid plate
Post by: bnau267 on December 21, 2013, 10:05:07 AM
Need a stainless steel skid plate fabricated for this swing arm.  Doug couldn't help me as ProTect seems to be out of business.  Any ideas - White Chassis?  Not everyone messes with stainless.  If it were any other swingarm i'd modify it to use a 450 skid.  I kind of want to leave this original being that these are extinct.  It has mounting tabs....I'll get a better picture.

I need one also.  I was gonna get a frame skid off ebay but the heck with it I'm just gonna get a Skid Blank from GT Thunder and make it work.  Only $25

I would try to modify this one to fit: http://www.lsracing.com/honda-trx450r-trx450er-honda-trx450r-std-swing-arm-stainless-skid-plate.1060.5.atv-utv-racing

Getting one to fit around that giant CR250 chain guide will be tough. I have a std. link Roll swing arm I used for XC and run the Blingstar sprocket and rotor guards and built a steel plate that bolts next to the chain guide to protect it.

Here is another nice stainless one: http://www.zbrozracing.com/ars-fx-swing-arm-skid-plate-stainless-steel-2

I found a pretty good machine shop here in KY that is making a skid for my Laeger. Let me know if you want their number.

The ARS one makes me wish I had a 450!  I'd like to run a CV4 chain ring and have a skid made to cover the swinger and protect the disc.

You should just sell me that swinger and shock combo and avoid this issue :)

To be honest, not a bad idea...
I haven't built up the courage to cut the bottom linkage mount off my Aren Bros frame.  It barely clears (less than 3/16") the bottom mount.

Doug sold me a badger heat treated skid plate for my lobo ll (second from the right)it weighs more than you'd think. So I made a couple out of 6065 5/16" aluminum (far right) but it weighs almost the same. Go figure

Holy collection...I have the straight model.  Is the one on the far right for the gullwing?  Bolt pattern looks close.

Yeah the two right ones are for the gull wing, you are correct.
