Title: Fiberglass/Carbon Fiber Fuel Safe Resin
Post by: jadleybray on December 21, 2013, 07:54:00 PM
I need a winter project and this is something I've been thinkin about for awhile.  I don't like the tank I have and how it looks on the trike.  So, I'd like to eliminate it, build a carbon fiber tank to sit inline with and follow the lines of the seat.  So, I need a resin that is fuel safe, specifically methanol safe.   Anyone know what resin will work for this?

They make a bladder that seals internally for carbon fiber tanks, street bikes been doing this for years. I talked to Jay on this very topic.

I've done some tank liners for the ATC70's to protect the metal, and that would work for this too.  But, I don't wanna add the weight of the liquid liner!!  Any ideas?
