sick video

Not one of my better videos, but the only footage I got from the weekend. Two of the guys were on bikes instead of their broken quads, one of the bikes was running poorly and one of the guys is always messing around. I like to be behind the leader filming because that is my favorite view for good footage. I think that view gives more of a read for the terrain. I'm still not familiar with using the Gopro and I need to learn how to edit my videos.

video is not bad bud,,, post more when ever you can

id love to ride the dunes once..

I thought it was a good video. BTW good job to the guy riding the xr650(400???) with no paddle tire.

That sand looks alot tougher/packed/less soft/whatever you want to call it, out there than here at Silver. I cant imagine it is, but man this video makes me want this trip 100x worse. And i want to get a go pro haha.
@mennis, i have a buddy who rides dirtbikes, nearly went pro, he is kelly Smith's little brother, he and Kelly both prefer riding the dunes without a paddle. Blows my mind too, but they say you float better, and landings are 10x better than with a paddle.

The sand was a little wet. That can be good and bad. If it's a busy weekend the wet sand turns into big ruts, that make for a ruff ride. You hook up a lot better in wet sand though. Virgin dry sand can be no fun too. You hit soft sand and just sink.

We call the soft stuff "fluff". Like when skiing they call to "Pow Pow".Feels like your surfing. Best part of the video is making first tracks AND the fact it's the my favorite time to ride. Sun coming down and great shadows for the dunes. In Michigan you can only go up and over the bigger hills, no surfing the sides (legally).
Ur video reminds me I need to keep Glamis on the bucket list. Thanks for sharing.

George, you're legally allowed to Rainbow Test Hill. Its just rough some times haha. Thats how one of my crashes happened.
The thing that excited me the most about glammis is that there are now trucks digging 17 foot deep ruts everywhere! And that there is so much fresh sand to make my own tracks in!

I agree Colin. But test hill is one hill... Glamis is 1 Miilllliooon hills to rainbow. and yes the truck ruts suck! Darius your lucky to experience the "waves" wide open. LiL Sahara is similar but last time we were out we were breaking S*&! and Troy was doing everything he could to dial in Elsinore that weekend. As we all know to no avail. It wasn't due to the lack of perseverance that's for sure. That cut down on some "wave riding" for sure
