Title: Anyone run RPM hubs

Been looking at RPM front/rear hubs for a long time.  Curious if anyone runs the fronts and hearing your take on whether or not they are worth the cost.  Thinking about getting a RPM axle and was considering getting the front and rear hubs.

If they are as good as their axles Id say go for it, best axles made imo

I run the rear hubs. I like them. Came with the quad. Be cheaper to run 400ex/450r rear hubs and they are aluminum. The rpm fronts would be a good deal bc they have a grease zerk built into them and use roller bearings.

I had a set of the front RPM hubs a while ago and they were good. If you want to run tapered front bearings a cheaper and just as good INMO is Pivot Works. They make a conversion kit to run the tapered bearings in stock style hubs. I have a set in my Nac's front hubs and the fit and work great.

I run RPM front and rear hubs, rear axle, rear bearing carrier and axle nut

They are all great products, I snapped a lug on one of the front hubs (pretty sure from overtightening, my bad)  I called them to order a replacement and they sent me new lugs and lug nuts for free

Do the front hubs run a special spacer of sorts to allow you to snug them up real good or is it a little tricky getting it right with the tapered bearings.  Not familiar with the setup and was just wondering before dropping dough on these.

You tighten it up like a car wheel bearing it goes by feel and yes you can over tighten them

Yea I tighten mine up while spinning the hub until I cant spin them easily, back it off until it spins easy and doesnt have any play.  They are quality

And they stay tight?  Trying to understand what keeps that nut from coming loose.

Cotter pin keeps the nut were it suppose to be. I really like the tapered bearing hubs but you have to be precise with how tight you have the nut. Too tight and it binds the bearings and too lose and lots of slop.

Yea i just use cotter pin clips so I can check them every couple rides real quick

Sorry to resurrect an old post here, but I am in need of replacing my front wheel bearings and I was wondering from matt250r21's post about the tapered bearing conversion from Pivot Works, are these really better than the sealed ball bearings? I realize that you can adjust and grease them vs. the sealed units, but are they more maintenance than the sealed ones on a quad that gets rode in the dirt and mud a lot? I guess I'm looking at the fact that the ones I need to replace are the original '86 Honda ones, so do I just buy new from Honda and go another 29 years? Or are the aftermarket ones just as good? Are the tapered kits even better? What are your experiences with these?
