As requested by a member here is a video about suspension valving. We are open to any suggestions you may have for videos. We normally don't have time for these but due to how cold it is outside we don't have as many customers stopping by or breaking things because they can't ride at the moment.

Sweet! I been waiting for this one! Haven't even watched it yet, can't wait!

Sweet video Andy. "Those shims don't have a brain" - do you have any other videos that show dynos and talk about setting up & adjusting hi and low speed compression? Sounds like I wrongly assumed the hi and low speed adjustments were decoupled but you're saying they're pretty well linked to each other (a change in one of those affects the other).
-
Very cool Andy, thank you!!

Great vid

thanks Andy cool vid.I was wondering if you use the stack height as a means of controlling high speed dampening and also do you ever use nitogen preasure changes to tune at all

I do have a couple of videos that show running shocks on the dyno. I'm planning on making one showing how the high and low speed compression adjuster works very soon so it's easier for everyone to understand. Yes, the high/low speed internal valving both are changed when making a valving change.

It all depends on how drastic of a change we need to make and also depends on the piston design too. Some pistons will respond rapidly with minimal change (elka) and some it takes a larger change to make them respond the same amount (stock). I don't like the ones that respond to minimal changes as well because they are harder to manipulate the outcome you want!
-
Andy, feel free to use my Elkas for demonstration if you need to!

Thanks, I might use them to show the problems with their pistons. For some reason I'm not receiving e-mails when someone responds to a thread I'm subscribed too? Looked at my settings and it's set to "instant e-mail notification".
-
Feel free to use them, as Im curious about the pistons and what/if can be done about it. How much did they change internally between the stg4 and the stg5's also, I know you said there were no updates for the stg4's, just curious how much, if at all, better the 5's are.

I confirmed your settings and they all look good Andy. Can you confirm they aren't in your Junk Folder before we look into the next steps? PM me and we'll get it resolved.
