I have a question regarding the CR Ignition for a 250R. I have seen that the 2001 CR250 Ignition was a preferred year to get. I see however ESR now sells the 2007 CR Ignition. Is there a difference between which years CR250 Ignition?? Any Pros and Cons I should be aware of no matter what year CR250 Ignition to get?? I am wanting to install a CR250 Ignition on my 250R so any information and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes there are numerous differences. The main one being that the 2007 had an electronically controlled power-valve, the 2001 was mechanically driven by a gear from crankshaft RPM.
Some other guys will comment with the more scientific answers, that's not my expertise.
Here's a recent thread. Look through the "Engine" section for even more
