What are you guys using for a replacement thumb throttle? or will only a 250r thumb throttle work? Years ago, people used to say that you could use a 400 ex thumb throttle and grind some of the stops out inside the housing. Well, that is what I have now and I have grinded as much material out as possible. It still won't fully open my new 38mm Smart Carb slide and it never fully opened my 38mm Keihin A/S slide either. I'm tired of it. It's got to go. What else out there will work will, and actually be able to fully open a large bore carb?

I use the Boyesen quickshot system and it works great. Nice fat thumb throttle with plenty of grip

Terry Cable and Moose billet thumb throttles work very well. The lever is a bit longer, ease of pull is great, and adjustable throttle stop. Plus they polish and chrome up very nice!

Had a 300ex one on my spare r.

Can I ask why not just get a 250r thumb throttle?
Of course you can ask! lol. I may end up doing that. It's just that pretty much all of them now are used versus buying a new thumb throttle of some sort. Just curious if anything better had come along. Not looking like it.

It looks like alot of the internals for the thumb throttle, bushings/moveable parts are still available so you could rebuild your thumb throttle. Most the parts are small and it would be a pain to put it back together, but it looks like it can be done.
