How do they hold up? I mainly Dune, but i dont know if i can justify $300 to chrome my Roll Design no link unless i know its going to hold up for a long long time. I'd love to hear it last forever, but dont expect that at all.
Thanks guys!

It will hold up as long as you get it chromed by a very good shop, which means it will cost alot. And if it's not in to many crashes, lol. Pinned

yeah the quote i got was $300, triple plate show chroming they claim. Is $300 astronomical or is just me?

All my swingarms are chrome. They hold up very well in the sand. I have one going on 10 years and still looks great!

I typically pay about $175 to chrome swingarms out in Oregon. $300 seems high unless it needs a lot of prep, the shop does exceptional work, or the cost of chrome is higher in your area.

sell your swingarm and buy a chromed one. it will cost you less money

You try finding a Roll Design no link swingarm lol.
havinnoj, whats the name of the shop you use? I will contact them! even if it costs me $30 to ship both ways, im still saving. And then i KNOW they do a good job, ill take 10 years of holding up to match my Chrome +3+1 Roll arms.

I've used a lot over the years and middle-manned a few small parts last year.
Oregon Plating
East Side Plating (http://www.eastsideplating.com/)
McKenzie Chrome Plating (http://www.mckenziechromeplating.theinfocity.com/)
Middle-manned some small stuff out to:
Cascade Innovations (http://www.cascadeinnovations.net/)
Bright-Werx (http://www.bright-werx.com/)
-
Thank you sir!
-
I used bright werx and they did a nice job

Yes Steve Hershberger (Dunatic / OregonDunes) owns Bright-Werx. He doesn't own a chrome or polishing shop but takes stuff to a few shops in town depending on what you need done.
-
OK, yeah he a good guy I would use him again and his prices are good
I have his phone number if anyone needs it
-
Shoot JL engineering made me a +4 chromed swinger for like 400 bucks lol, only thing to worry about with duning is making sure you keep it dry and wash it as soon as you're home or the rust will come and that stuff is like herpes

Great, thanks Guys!

*Note for chroming swing-arms. The plating process is electrical. It takes more electricity to get the plating to move to the inside where your shock bolts up. Outside get lots of plating and is shiny. The inside area gets thinly plated,is not shiny and rusts first. I tape this area off and shoot a clear coat of paint on the thinly plated surface. It will keep it from rusting for many more years. Same applies the the a-arm. The inside gets thinly coated and will start rusting in 3 years.

That's a great idea!

I have an idea. Install as is and run that SOB hard so you can dial in the suspension! Then turn it into a garage queen....lol.

Haha it will never be a garage queen Bob!

I know...just messing with you. Those Rolls look pretty sick all chromed out.
-
Gol dangit Dan, i was sold on chroming it until now....throwing a wrench in it now...
-
I always wax everything that I get chromed, polished or powdercoated. Adds a nice layer of protection, but you have to redo it every 3 or 4 rides if you dune it! Plus it really keeps my garage queens shinny and the dust build up just blows right off!!
Thanks Higgy
