hey guys my radiator hose is touching my expansion chamber, is that something to worry about or will it be fine?
-
Not fine. If it sits on the pipe, it will melt. Believe me. I had to manipulate the hose and pipe, to keep a good distance away.
-
Post a pic or two and we'll see what we can do to help.
-
If your running stainless hoses itll be fine, that's the main reason I run the ss hoses, to protect from that. The black rubber hose last a little while on it but not long enough. What's even worse is the clear stuff, I had that Ina bike because it looked cool, but one day I had one blow and my whole bike was covered in that shitastic coolant!

i got those silicone hoses, really cant see how im gonna keep it off the pipe? ill try get some pics loaded, spewing the apple app isnt running yet

Can you rotate the pipe down at all?
-
Not at all, this pipe has caused me no end of grief. First the stock CT pipe didn't fit so they took it back and made a custom one for an arens frame.....well that was almost worse, so $200 later of extra postage I took it to a fabricator here and spent $300 and this is as good as he can get it to fit

If you loosen all the attachment bolts up, can you get the pipe far enough from the hose by rotating the 2 pieces? If so maybe you can fab up some spacers or new mounting brackets. If not, your best bet would be stainless steel hose wraps.
-
Could u possibly Fab up something to raise the radiator a small amount.
-
Cheers guys, I'll check out both options

You could always find an 86 style radiator where the outlets are bent as opposed to coming straight out. Might just give you the clearance needed? CT racing what a joke...Surprised you could even get them on the phone, I only tried for 3 weeks before going a different route.
-
X2 on the 86 radiator, wish I had one in my bike, got one one the wife's and the mounts are great.
I'd still recommend the stainless hose from summit racing. You can get like 6ft of it for $49 shipped.
-
ey pinned do you know the exact hose we need to buy from stainless?? whats the diametor??
-
can't you just cut 1/2'' off the end of the hose?that would pull the 90deg bend farther away from the pipe.

I.D of .75 (3/4) is what I use with just stainless steel hose clamps. The red clamps you can buyare a major pain. Just remember to check them occasionally and tighten them

sweet. will do

not to hi-jack the thread, but i had the same problem when I used a CT pipe on an arens frame. Sold the CT and bought a LED problem fixed. My issue was not only the hose on the pipe but also the pipe hitting the frame and would not seal and line up at the elbow. I feel for you
