Title: ESR CR ignition kit tips
Post by: 2strokesforever on July 09, 2013, 12:54:49 PM
Thinking of buying the complete CR ignition mod from ESR racing at the end of next week. Just wondering if you guys that have already made this mod could give me any hints on what to expect when installing it. Or any tips on what i need to do to get it installed right. Didnt know if it was a direct bolt on or if there was some things I might need to know before getting started. THX

Have you called and talked to them recently?  I went to order one about 3 weeks ago and I was told that the OEM cr250 cdi is discontinued by honda so they didnt have any complete kits.  And that I would have to find a used cdi to use on their setup.  Not a huge issue but could be a pain in the butt to find a good one.

Super simple hook up! I would get a coil mount from puma, a ground strap from a local parts house and have at it

Called ESR and they said they was working on a new kit to put the new CR ign's on R's. Said to call back in a couple of weeks that they think they have it figured out.

Has anyone had any luck with aftermarket CR CDIs?
