Post by: Rupp250 on April 14, 2014, 11:56:58 AM
With Avenal, Lemoore, Santa Maria, Famoso, and Dogg Pound river races, I figured I will start a thread for all of them and just keep 1 long post going.

So it looks like the next race coming up is Avenal, who's coming?

After that it looks like some racing in the riverbed near Coalinga. Anyone going to head out there?

Avenal is April 27th, 28th.

I "think" I am only going to make it on Sunday. I work that Saturday, and requested Sunday off. But now they posted my Schedule and I am working Sunday. WTF. So I will trying to get it changed.

Johnny, You went to the Coalinga river drags before right?  How was it, hard to find?

No I haven't been to the coalinga drags. I went to the drags in Kerman. I heard the track is 1200 ft long and that they groom it pretty well though. The guy who organizes it said its easy to find... I guess we'll find out!

Wonder how far out they are going to race, 300ft or further? In 300ft I only use 4th but At Pismo I click 5th for a little ways, would be fun to run out 5th. $h!t will be moving out on the top end if we do.

im sure it'll go further than 300 ft. if im losing i'll take it all the way to 1100ft haha.  yeah im right about there. I haven't really tried 300 ft yet but at Pismo I get right to the top of 4th.  I don't think ive ever hit 5th long enough to actually use it but it would be moving

Yeah I only have used 5th for when we run the drag strip that is more towards the north end, but is actually running south. Hard to explain over the comp

I think I know which one you're talking about Russ. Haha yeah I think that includes shut down and everything but that's still long.

Well the regular 300ft tracks are that plus 600 or so for shut down. So this is really only 200-300ft longer overall. yeah you will be moving.
