How many of the Mid West series races you guys planning on running ?. We have ran at Billys track a couple times in the years past.

You guys can come run with us as well if you like, AMA/ATVA EDT series.
Can ride a ways north to Renner SD May 30th for a double header event, or, ride a ways south to Muskogee OK Sept 5th & 6th for a double header there as well. The event at Muskogee OK, will have $10,000.00 worth of award prizes to give away to all of the Am classes & a $12,000.00 dollar Pro class purse + the event will be televised. My daughter won a flat screen TV last year at the event.

We also have an event scheduled for Aug 8th & 9th, out at Sturgis SD, across the road from Buffalo Chips camp grounds, during the bike weeks. We will be racing after the TORQ trucks events on the same track they will be racing on.

What I know about it,  he has been trying to get guys from the N east to come run at the track for several years.  They have had schedule conflicts.
He got a hold of a guy in St Louis to come down and run. As far as I know nobody coming races anywhere else.  Kind of an exibition race.
I am 5hrs away but from Sikeston so I have family and friends there to stay with.  There is a track in Flippin AR that allows 3 wheelers to race there.  I went down last year and watched and plan on racing a couple of races this year and a couple of flat track races in Kansas.
That is about the extent of my racing.

I remember as a kid coming home from church there was a line waiting to get in. That was 30yrs ago. They was in a small building then. The one they are in now is the 3rd building. And it is like a circus outside. The food is good.

When we went out to Billys for a race, Lamberts was the first place we went both times. You dont go to Sikeston & not go to Lamberts Cafe.

Check this out guys, cazyiest & oddest thing I've ever seen in my life. At Billys track, when they fill the water truck, theres a little hole about a foot deep right beside the staging area before you go onto the track, well they stick the fill hose from the pump down in that hole & suck the waster out to fill the water truck. Dangest thing I ever seen, like its some type of spring there or something. Check it out Steve when you go.

I am the one who has been speaking with Billy over the years. Good to see some locals coming out to support this. We will be in NC the week before so not sure if we can make this race but we are going to try. Both Billy and I have spoke to Jackie and Daryl about it as well. Not sure if either can make it though?

I also saw this post on 3ww...

Billy never mentioned a number plate, but I would bet a white paper plate and a Sharpie would do the trick. Up on the headlight.

You might want to say something as this is not acceptable. You can not have any glass on your trike so the headlights will have to be removed, not just covered over.

Yes, a TPC owner has been racing there for a few years. He needs some three wheelers to join him. I'm sure the quads are getting sick of him kicking their ass...lol...check out the video.

I spoke with Billy and he said to remove the headlight or tape them completely up.

Post by: Black Sheep on May 04, 2014, 11:34:36 PM
You're better off just taking them off if for no other reason then it is only some rubber straps and it is being respectful to other riders. If the worse happens and you crash and the headlight gets broken (tape wont stop that) glass will get on the track and could cut tires. Flat Track tires are not cheap.

Agreed, it should only take minutes to remove it. That would save a lot of hassle.

I would LOVE to Neil but if I do that you only get me...lol...I'm bringing some other racers with me to help off-set fuel cost as well as bring more riders to the gate so, I have to work with their schedule. We won't be leaving until Friday and driving all night to get there.

Ok, I understand completely, specially with the economy like it is today. Just thought I'd let you know, cause I'll probably have the track ready Thursday evening.
Trying to do my part, to help you get more folks on 3 wheels, cause we need you guys at the races just like the quads.

Looking forward to it. We have 5 guys coming down with us from NY/PA/and VA. I know some locals are coming as well. Hope this takes of in the NC area. f I did not have these guys with me (who all have to be back to work on Monday) I would leave NC and head over to MWEDT and do this Sikeston race on the 17th. Billy and I have been trying to get that going for some time and I am glad it is finally going to happen.

You need a big flat bed trailer & a 16 seater van, so you could put two 3 wheelers where one quad would fit & carry at least 16 people.
Have several drivers so they could switch out at night & plenty of coffee to keep them eyes propped open. Thats what we youst to do years ago. Sometimes going to a race, once we got there & opened the van doors, folks would be falling out was so many in it.

Matt Bills and Myself will be racing TPC's One of Matt's friends is also planning on attending. I'm not 100% sure but Luke Peterson, another TPC owner has said he might come. If he does we are all in trouble...lol...as he has been beating up on the quads in his home state of Arkansas!!!

Cool. I will see you guys there.

Steve, has the bridge on route 60 between Paducah & Sikeston been replaced yet.
I know last time we went to Billys, got ready to make that left turn at the stop sign to go across the second narrow bridge & my wife said OH NO you aint & not even looking I said OH yes I am, then she got my attention & said you aint cause the roads blocked off.

You folks coming from the east, like from Paducah KY, if you run route 60, when you get to that stop sign, just turn right & go through the small town & once on the outskirts of town it will turn into 4 lane & you'll run right into route I-57 that will take you south right to Sikeston. Some of route 60 is two lane, but its better than following the I-24 out of Paducah way up north & then coming back down I-57 to Sikeston.

Yeah, like on route 60 & you get to the stop sign & if you turn right you go to Cairo, but if you turn left, you remember there was a big narrow steel bridge that some of it fell in a few years ago.
Just about all the national race riders here in the east, going to Billys, would run route 60 over to Sikeston & none of us ever thought about going through Cairo. Was like 3 maybe 4 miles that way over to I-57, lot better than running that wobbly route 60 2 lane.
Somebody at Billys said a log truck about fell into the river when part of it gave way, so the DOT took it down completely.

I was born and raised in Sikeston. I have been in joplin for 11 yrs.  My dad preached at a church in Wickliffe most of my life.  I used to go over that bridge every week.  My dad said it was closed but i dont know if it was open or not.

Rain, I think the rain forrest has moved over here to the USA. Has rained just about every 4 to 6 days here in the east.
Billy could get rid of that wet track, if he would fill in about 4 feet where the track is located. Being as sandy as it is in that area though, if he had a race scheduled & rain was called for, he probably would have to water the track in the rain if he filled in, built the track area up.

Tell you something else, if his track was built out of red clay & the way Billy promotes a race & carrys himself, it would be the only ATV TT track in many miles, because once the riders ran there they wouldnt want to race anywhere else.

Is it the track lights making the track to look somewhat red, or has Billy found some red clay somewhere ?.

He hauled in a lot of dirt.  I found out how sticky american racers are. I didn't get mower tires so I ran what I had.

That was on the second practice lap.  I made some adjustments and that didn't happen again.

I suspect your feeling kinda sore today. At least you got off in what looks like a soft spot, but I bet that tire didnt feel to good, specially where it looks like its going.

I would be history after that, everything loaded up & sitting in a lawn chair watching the rest of the evening. Shucks, I git beat up just driving the water truck around the track.
