Title: Drive gear sizes
Post by: muthahucker on May 07, 2014, 12:07:04 AM
I ride mainly XC and woods.. Im currently running stock gears, 13 tooth in front and 39 tooth (?) in rear.  Should I be running a different size front and rear gears?  I have to get a new chain soon and wondered if I should get a different sized set of gears.
Thanks for any input

If you are happy with your acceleration and low end power in the woods right now then there is no need to change your gearing. If you want to try a 40+tooth rear sprocket then go for it, you may like it. You can always switch back

You can see the differences that these changes would make here:

I run XC and have 14/38 on my SOD BEAST! She LOVES that ratio...
