How often do you guys grease these? I put in a brand new carrier and bearings this year so it has 4 races (8 motos). Probably 5 total hours.
-
I think the only ones you can actually grease are the tapered bearings (RAD carrier?). All the others I have seen are sealed bearings.

This is what I bought over the winter. I don't see the tapered bearing anywhere in the description so I guess they are good to go. How would I tell if they need replaced? A scraping noise when I spin the wheels on the jack stand?

Usually I know the bearings are going bad when there is a side to side play in the carrier. I take the grab bar with the wheels on the ground and pull it side to side. You see right away if there is movement or not and the more movement the closer the bearings are to being shot.

I usually take the axle out and spin the inner races by hand and if they turn rough or notchy, replace them; same goes if they are sloppy loose with a lot of play.
The carrier you linked to is a dual row bearing carrier, not tapered.

Cool thanks guys. I'll check them out now that I know what to look for.
