Any one know what size tap and thread pitch is used on the pins that the brake pads slide on is by chance? Previous owner striped out the Allen head so I'm gonna try drilling and tapping it so I can get some new pads on there..Bellow is the part I speak of
Thanks!(http://forums.trx250r.org/vbulletin_imports/314_1934_2017-04-18_6242.jpg)

dont tap it to the next size. thoes pins wear out and you will fight it for as long as you have the caliper. ask around maybe some one has a extra one they will give you thats in good shape

Thanks sanddad, My thought process behind the whole shebang is drill out the pin just inside of the threads and run a tap through to clean out the remnants of the old caliper pin, hopefully leaving me with the standard size threaded hole . I figured I'd give it a shot and if it doesn't work out I'd just grab a new one ... We shall see

Have you tried and an extractor?
-
THOSE PINS ARE STAINLESS STEEL,,, be careful,, better have GOOD bits and tap!!
-
Yep tried a extractor with no luck.. Couldn't get it to bite...tried a bit of heat as I was gonna rebuild it anyways... Tried
Wd-40 pb blaster as well as marvel mystery oil for about a month prior to my last ditch effort of drilling. I'd did get it drilled out though. Threw it in my drill press and went at it very slowly! I drilled it out so I have to only remove about 1/32 of material when it tap it, plus the depth of the thread... Guess I'll see how she goes once I get my hands on the appropriate tap! I'm sure the stainless won't be much fun but I don't think I'll be taking much material out...

You'll need a 10x1.00 tap. I just did one the same way. Go slow with the tap and pick out bits out of the threads. It didn't turn out perfect but it'll do.
