I think it's time to switch to a big bore pipe. I like the power of my esr pipe and want something with a comparable power band. The engine is a midrange ported 344. Also what is a good silencer with the larger core?

that 350G

Get a trx5b. Same stinger and silencer but runs 10 degish cooler. You don't need a larger stinger with it.

Consider modifying your pipe for big bore. http://trx250r.org/threads/1662-Big-bore-stinger-project

Huh, just run the 5? I run one on a 363 and have no issues.

Well it was suggested that the restrictions may be one of the causes of my recent piston failures. I may be able to "get by" with different jetting, or less aggressive riding, etc..., but I don't really want to slow down.lol If it weren't a chrome pipe I might modify it, but I don't want a partially chromed pipe and don't know where to get it rechromed. I've been thinking about that LED pipe, just want to see what options there are.

My modified pipe only burned the chrome off about 1/2" from the weld and it hasn't rusted.

I checked out your link. That turned out good. What do you think after getting some seat time on it?

Pipe worked out fine, actually helped out on the low end and no heat issues to worry about. My problem was too much port timing.
