What makes it a xc frame?  Will it work just as well for mx?

Interesting it uses a 86-87 style swingarm. I guess you could use that style rear engine mount just cut off the bottom tabs from it?

Laegers did not use the rear 88-89 style mount, nor does it use the 86-87 mount that bolts to the engine,it does use the lower 88-89 mount. Theoretically you could use both style swingarms which is why there is a center support tube with that swingarm.

you selling your front  shocks?

I bought the swingarm so I could potentially use an 86/87 style mount cause the cr500 linkage doesn't use the upper rear motor mount.  Couple that with a Saber engine doesn't have a head stay I thought I was going to run into problems.   However, I never ran it long enough to find out. So is had a machined spacer to span across the opening of the swingarm pivot.  Works great with 2 grease zerks.

Note chassis is sold and shocks.

Thanks George!  You were one of the few that got to see it run... well sort of... LOL!  I'm not looking back, only forward.. haha.

Sam, I haven't yet, the guy that bought the frame probably will need it.

Troy, I can't believe what i am seeing. I have ran into $$$ issues the last few years and everyday I am getting closer to doing this same thing. I really enjoyed this build, I was living vicariously through you since I can't afford to build anything of my own.

Good luck, hate to see it go.

Thanks Maniak, but all is not lost.  I'm going to be starting a fresh build here soon.  It will just be of the 4 stroke type... LOL!

I've heard all about the tough times. 2 years ago I sold a Laeger R chassis and even parts off my hybrid. Thankfully it's being rebuilt how I always wanted now, even has someone's PB1's going on it ;)

The positive way to look at a part out I'd how it'll improve the people's quads that buy the parts!

Troy you're following dans lead! I'd say traitor but I made the switch years ago too lol!

I've had a bunch of fourstrokes, I'm a frequent member on the other .org as well... LOL!  I'm not going anywhere...  I've still got one 250r and I'll be building another, that is even better.

While it makes me sad to see you sell it Troy, I'm sure you'll just come up  with something even cooler. I'm a 2 stroke die hard though so I won't switch to the darkside(on quads or dirtbikes) LOL. I do own 2 4 strokes now though, my little girls crf 50 and a Suzuki Tl1000R v twin fuel injected sportbike. I figured if I was gonna go the 4 stroke route, then it has to be a v twin as they are so much fun in corners. I love the torque of that thing and the controllable power, but at the same time I like the hit of a 2 stroke, especially a 500. IDK if I'm gonna do the LSR FT quad build next or the cr500 engine rebuild, but both of those will come after the yz fork seals get replaced. I just love almost all kinds of toys actually, but it is a sad day that this didn't work out for you. I, like many others, are really bummed out for ya. Best of luck with with whatever you're gonna do next. We all know it will super cool.
