Title: Saber top end on a pilot motor?
Post by: troybilt on June 10, 2014, 09:21:31 PM
I've seen the pilot cylinders on a 250r bottom end, what about a Saber on a Pilot bottom end?  Just picked up my second pilot this evening, this one is going to be mine... mostly...  hehe....

I've also see the rotax kits out there, 540's, 670's, etc...  I am considering it, but would rather keep the Honda "guts"...

Do a liger..I'd think the bolt pattern would be closer (total guess) and you'll get more displacement. I believe the cr500 and fl400 strokes are both 79mm so the liger would be cast close for the stock stroke.

Ah.. I forgot about the liger... where's rsss when you need him.  I've seen several with CR500 cylinders on them, might be onto something there.

Troy, the pilot can be bored to 85mm like a Puma. But that is the last bore. If you stroke it to a 4mil crank you will end up with a 431. But it seems you may want to look at a Liger. Good luck with whatever you choose to pursue.
