What brand is that weight? Anyone try Steahly or Msr? Can the trx cover handle a larger diameter weight?
-
stealthy weights fit under the stock cover.

I might try one of those. I presume the trx cover has more room than a cr cover that those are designed for.

a 16 oz fits with no issues

Have you found these to help in riding?

These are the ones I'm considering 12 or 14oz http://www.steahlyoffroad.com/honda-flywheels/90-01-honda-cr250r-flywheel-weight.html. I'm not sure if the pics are correct is it held on by the flywheel nut or is it attached to the flywheel?

this was not on my bike, but on a family member"s bike and he liked it, said it was easier to start from a dead stop in the sand and seamed to make the bike act like it pulled more by slowing engine acceleration. I will probably steal it and give it a try on my stock 88 when I change the ignition to a cr125 box and 250 stator/flywheel

those are exactly the style we used

My little bit of installation advice is to put your flywheel nut on the bike and slightly over tighten the nut than factory specs call for.
Remove the nut and pretty sure the washer, then install the weight using the tool, then tighten the set screws just a little.
loosen the set screws and take the flywheel weight off, now look at the flywheel were the set screws tighten and make sure that they are fully seating on the center hub part of the flywheel, its really hard to explain until you actually install one to see what I mean. I am almost sure we had to remove the washer to allow the set screws to grab better on to the center hub's edge.
Over tightening the factory nut and removing it before installing the weight helps seat the flywheel real good so you do not shear a flywheel key.

Awesome Dave thanks for the info.
