I noticed my wifes bike is going to need some beefier pegs since we are cleaning it up and ditching the heelguards, and the pegs on my brothers atc need remade, so I made a couple sets with a blank mounting edge, so they can be welded up to any mounting bracket and used on any bike. after looking at some different models of roll pegs for different bikes, I drew them up:

heres how they turned out. I made them from AR steel, it does not wear as fast as mild steel, so I think its safe to say they should last a while. they had a good amount of spatter on the inside where the welds are, since I only have access to a mig, but they cleaned up nicely and will look great once powdercoated. the bottom has a slight angle up towards the end just so they don't look too square when mounted up. here is some pics

what do you guys think? final dimensions are 6.5x2.5 plus 45 degree kickup.

Those look sweet, are you going to offer them to the rest of us? :adoration:
-
Very nice!
-
Nicely done!
-
Wow those look awesome man. A+ job
I like the little "hook" on the end of the kick-up too
-
Those are perfect kick ups. Don't tear up your boots and don't slip off. nice
-
Good job I like them.
-
Those look nice Jesse. If you are going to do some in bulk to sell some add the std nerf mount locations to your center of the peg construction.
Nicely done!!
-
Nice!

Wow, how sweet. AR is some tough chit man. I know those are gonna last a life time. Its got to be welded together cause you can't bend it. AR is harder than stainless and a bit spendy at the same time.

I see bad things with those SHARP points,,,,, they scare me... very nice fab work ,, I really like the design,
-
Nice work!!! I like how you made them universal. Hard to find over sized pegs anymore as most companies just put them on their nerf bars.
I see bad things with those SHARP points,,,,, they scare me.
Figures you would respond like that. think outside the box...sand box that is...lol.
Where we ride you need points like that or you lose your footing real easy. Lots of pro MX/SX'rs have pegs just like them. Don't want your foot slipping off on a 80's triple ;)

p.s. I can edit too Kasey...lol...I put in your original comment they way it was without the compliments so people can see what you really said and understand why I responded like I did ;)
-
I like them. They definitely have some bite. The lip on the kick up is sort of like the barb on a fish hook.
-
ya tony you can bend it.... if you want 1 pc made into 2 pcs lol. im glad you guys like them. that was my idea with the little hook on the end, the different models of roll pegs i looked at all had smooth kickups but i thought a little bit of tab would ultimately stop anything happening if your foot somehow did slide hard to the end of the kickup, granted the bite these suckers have i dont think that will be an issue. although i would love to be able to offer them to people, but my adhd kicked in after all the spatter cleaning these ones took, and i got sick of it already LOL.
thanks for all the kind words! ill post some more pics of the finished product after they get powdercoated and mounted up, but it will be a good while before i have the money to pony up and get the bikes freshened up that they are going on.

Nice edit Kasey, way to change the entire context of your message I replied to.

I stand by my comments. Someone who has no need for an aggressive peg should not be putting them down saying bad things could happen.

I'll look into animated GIF's. And let's keep this thread on track please.

those pegs are just what a muddy woods rider needs. nice work.

Caution on the sharp pegs. They will tear through your boots in one season. Not a good choice for duners like me. I can see where extreme riding (MX and cross country) they are a good choice.
-
They are hard on boots, but I would rather buy boots more often and be able to stay on the bike.
