Title: 2014 Lonestar build
Post by: oldschoolr on June 29, 2014, 11:33:07 AM
We had a good run together but after 12 years I had to put ole girl down. After 6-7 cracks and repairs the frame finally gave out and took the cases with it.  This was the second time I had cracked cases due to frame flex so here we go.

Here's some of the damage a bad frame can do. You can see the first repair also.

I picked up a new lsr pro peg frame last month after not having any luck at all finding a good Arens  frame. Everything I found had either cracks or broken motor mounts and I didn't want to go through this again so I just bought new. At least this way I know what I have.(http://forums.trx250r.org/vbulletin_imports/29_2421_2017-04-18_3822.jpg)

Fast forward and this is where I'm at today.  What started out as a frame swap has turned into a full rebuild.  The red is from Columbia coatings  super mirror red.(http://forums.trx250r.org/vbulletin_imports/29_2347_2017-04-18_1298.jpg)

This turned out nice, I wrapped the lower arms with a automotive clear paint protection film. I've done this before and it does help to keep rock chips and scratches to a minimum.

Carbon fiber silencer. . well not really its a 4d vinyl wrap. I really didn't know what to do with this,  I'm not a baller like Higgy so I thought I would try this.  I've done this before with a 3m wrap but it didn't have a shine to it. What do you guys think, it cost a whole 12 bucks.

Got most of the motor finished up last night,  just waiting on the pipe, coil mount and stator cover gasket. The carb went back to apt for updates. Can't wait to try out the new led g pipe with this setup. Motor is a 363 ct pv ported by Neil and 4mil setup by Bubba Ramsey.

Post by: oldschoolr on August 21, 2014, 06:53:15 PM
The look im going for on this build is a up to date mx build. White plastic with carbon hood and tank cover, fourwerx wave seat cover is on the way too. I'm going to have ssi make my graphics but  this has been my biggest challenge so far. I made my own templates for the hood and rear fenders, I actually just got those scanned and put on a file today. This is the color scheme im going for but not so many stripes and stickers as this one.

Tony thanks again for the overflow bottle clamp, it turned out awsome. The little bottle is one Bubba Ramsey uses.

I know Sam it's " on the wrong side " supposedly people have run two gauges and they both read the same.  I mounted it there so I could look down at it while riding,  I just keep in mind that it's probably a few degrees higher than what it shows.

Here's where I'm at as of right now, I just have a few things to tighten and button up. She starts right up and purrs, just gotta do some break in and tuning this week.  Front plastic will be here Monday and im going to make one last call to ssi about my graphics, they have had all my info for almost 3 months and I haven't even gotten a phone call or anything. I guess I'll call ftr or chaos graphics and see what they say.

Looks awesome!  Graphics Look really good! I know those are the two piece maier fronts but did you buy the full fender fronts and cut them yourself or is that how the race cuts come?
Title: 2014 Lonestar build
Post by: oldschoolr on May 18, 2015, 07:38:56 PM
Anthony those are the  full fender  Maier and yes I cut them myself. Steve at Chaos  did awsome, I made the patterns  for that flat hood and the  rear fenders. The rears  are trimmed  a little bit  just  so it won't  catch the back of my boots.

Whole build looks great!  I'm looking to get into the cool kids club soon. I'm just concerned about the kicker rubbing that beautiful plate.

Finally got the new pipe on this past weekend. This is probably the best fitting pipe I've ever had. I've got a little tweaking to do on the  carb and on the new shocks. If everything goes as planned this week she's racing this weekend.
