Title: water pump mechanical seal??

hey guys im kinda confused as to what part is the mechanical seal part? i keep reading about a porcelin outside and rubber inside. is that between the bearing and the metal circle part? on this diagram #3 is the mechanical seal. i have a photo of the one that came out of my water pump. dont see any porcelin.. idk somebody point me in the right direction please

The porcelain part is attached to the impeller with a rubber coating. You are holding 1 part of #3. That is the spring

i filled up my rad all the way and my resevoir and after running the bike the reservoir lost some coolant is that normal? it isnt leaking outta the weep hole. could it be going into the engine? the orings and gaskets are all new and sealed. no air leaks what so ever.. kinda weird.

It's normal to fill to top, run bike, and fill while it's running.
