Hey guys, I am finishing up my build have a couple questions. I'm running ck109 hot rods crank stock stroke, 88 cylender with 3 bridge intake, 68mm bore with wisco piston, prodesign head, stock style plug, super stock reeds, fmf gold series pipe. I started it up running it a little trying to get jets right, then stator died. So I just bought a Ricks 200 watt stator, and Ricks high output cdi, is anyone running this setup? What do you think, talking about ignition? I'm running stock carb with 48 pilot and right now 158 main ( stock for 88 motor) I've bought 160, 162,and 165. Even with the 158 it was running rich topend and boggin. That was with the old electrical parts. Will the new ones help out my bogging issue? It's spouse to burn hotter and alter Timing. I just stuck those on and started one time have t rode yet. And yes it has a neck of a kick back lol. My motor is built to a 308 now.

Most don't recommend aftermarket CDI's. They seem to not be of the same quality of OEM and due to advanced timing they can also cause kick back. I would definitely start with your biggest main and work your way down. Use your airscrew to determine what pilot you need. Your looking for highest idle at 1.5 to 2 turns out.

It's at 1 1/2 out and idles fine. I'm gonna run it today and see if it was because of weak stator.

Haha it runs in reverse with that cdi??. Gotta figure the timing out now

I am confused what you mean by your motor is built to a 308 now?
-
The long block is built to a 308 now instead of a 249cc. Just by using the formula. If that's makes a difference in the jetting.

68mm bore x 72mm stroke = 261cc

Well then I got my math wrong somewhere, I thought it was a little high but said huh lol. I done it the way you would do car motor must be different.
