Title: Linkage bolts help
Post by: G-COOK on August 13, 2014, 12:11:51 AM
Does the 88/89 linkage dog bone take a different bolt to mount the bone to the swingarm than a 86? Reason for asking is, I bought a houser -1 swingarm for my 86 and one of the bolt holes is a lot bigger than the other, it looks like it's either missing pieces or requires a bushing of some sort. The guy I got it from says I just need a 88/89 bolt, but I can't find anything that looks different than what I have. Thanks

Yes it takes an Allen head bolt. The same as the 88/89 aluminum swing arm
when I was going threw this some told me 400ex or 450r will work...they don't!
Check eBay.

Is the outer diameter of the Allen head just big enough to fit the hole. There's nothing in the hole for the bolt to rest against. It looks like it will snug against the linkage.

Correct. I had to put my bolt in a drill and used some sand paper until it fit.
