Title: Nerf Bars, Alba/AC
Post by: sean_13 on August 23, 2014, 03:09:00 PM
Really liking the new AC's with the netted heel guards, but at Alba's price point and at $200 less it is catching my attention.
Anybody familiar with their nerf bars and how much build quality is being sacrificed at that price?

I can tell u about ACRACING only as I don't have Alba. I have full net heal guard and they r nice however plan on a lot of elbow grease to get them on. I ended cutting front mounts and welding in a pro peg style mount.

Thanks scar, I heard the same thing on a 250r facebook forum. I heard the Alba's have great fitting

The alba is using a modified 450 mount and they locate the peg much further back then any made for the 250r nerf manu has ever located them. They are a lot further back then any racer ever put them when each and every point of the R was being moved around if it would help in any way.

from my experience all products from AC racing are lacking in quality control.  Nothing fits as it should.  all products require some kind of tweaking.  but i will say the best fitting line of nerfs from AC Racing was their Blackilne series.  bad news is the Blackline is discontinued.

I agree AC does lack QC. My son and I both run the Honda TRX 250R 88-89  Nerf Bars  Pro Peg  Alba Pro Elite  Black/Black. I went with the black netting as it does not show any stains. They are nice because they have the built in heal guard which I definitely wanted on my sons quad. I also have found with winter riding on ice it also protects from the studded tires.  They also have a plated steel style pro peg that is adjustable. I have had many nerf bars over the years, these are the best bang for the buck by far! I ordered 2 sets at once and got them for $175 a set free shipping. You should be able to find them for under $200 a set with free ship. Fit and finish is very nice and they are very lightweight.

I always thought that AC was an acronym for Aluminum Crap:smile-new:

I just ordered a set of yfz450 rock pro nerfs with heel guards (look like albas) for $184.99 shipped. Did this route because everyone thinks they can charge $40+ shipping to alaska.

I'll have to make a custom mount at the peg but I planned on it regardless of which chassis I purchased them for. I'll try and remember to post pics once I get them and post pics of the installation.

At last someone that can relate to me:lol:
Don't forget flat rate boxes cost the same to ship to Alaska and Hawaii as it does to anywhere in the continuous 48.

Today we had another experience. My wife is training 12 horses in exchange for leasing which ever horse whenever she wants since it's too much to get ours up here. Her mom priced shipping for her saddle and my daughters. Over $500! Shit can get here by any means and people think they can charge prices like we are on a mountain 1,000 miles away from anyone.
