I'm about to order a new set of a arms, and I'm wanting to run 06 450r spindles and hubs. The 450 spindles are the same geometry as the 400ex, will I run into camber issues?im thinking about getting 400ex alba arms, but I'm just worried I might end up with positive camber that I can't adjust out. If I get 250r arms will I be able to run 450 spindles and still get my camber correct. Thanks

I've read that 06+ are similar to ex camber wise. I know ex spindles need about 3/8" of adjustment with 250r arms that are designed for R spindles. Arms that have adjustable upper and lower arms only need about 3/16" of adjustment on each. Those alba MGC arms do look interesting.

The upper 400ex a arm mount points are 7-1/2" apart ant the lowers are 5-1/2
250r is 8" upper and 5-1/2" lower, that already puts me at a 1/4" each side. I guess it all comes down to spindle difference at that point. My r is a 86, not sure if the spindles or frame mount points changed for other years.

I was referring to adjustment for camber. I have not used ex arms, I have read that they work with spacers where they mount to the frame. I have worked with R, ex and 05 spindles.

I've read about the spacers needed, the measurements I took were from the left to right mount point going straight across the frame. The 250r was 8" across and the 400 was 7-1/2" if that makes since. The lowers were the same on both 5-1/2". The 04-05 450r spindles would probably work great for this setup, but they are really expensive compared to the 06+ and they are kinda getting harder to find also. My goal is to use the 450 stuff so parts are easily found if needed.

Hey....just saw this. Did you end up doing this? I have a set of those Alba arms in good shape w/ new bushing kit and new billet brake line clamps if your still considering it.

I bought a set for the 250r and I'm going to run 04/05 450r spindles and hubs.

Is the 04-05 450R hub/spindle combo the hot ticket for the 250R? I have a set and am wanting to use them to get the updated brakes. Should these be used with stock a-arms or ????

I talked with jd performance when ordering my arms and he says the 04/05 will have better adjustability over the 06+. My arms should be in today so I'll have more info this weekend sometime.

Keep me posted

Will do.

Got the arms and 04/05 450r spindles on tonight and there's plenty of adjustment to setup however you want. I also think there's enough to run the 06+ 450r spindles and hubs.

Did you buy the "rec" series or the "performance" arms? My concern is the caster adjustments in the "performance" arms or the preset caster in the "rec" arms. Will it be correct when using the 04-05 spindles hubs from the 450R. I have a set of the 04-05 hubs/spindles and am wanting to use them on the 250R. Just don't wanna cause more issues than benefits.

I have the performance arms, the center caster adjustment looks great, I'm not sure what degree it is, but laz at gt thunder says the top ball joint needs to be about a 1/4" behind the lower one so that's how I've always set them up and it works great. I can still move the arm toward the front for mx or back for desert, the center setting will be good for xc or just all around trail riding.
