Haha it's a Honda cr500 motor. Maybe I should build him a Liger cylinder for it lol
-
Nice, thanks for sharing! Travis is a beast. If only I could have Red Bull build me a few bad @ss rally cars and trucks, oh what a life!
-
yeah, I got exited since they called it a zilla, but upon inspection its the same motor in the Honda 500AF, just different ignition cover to remove Honda from it. I think really all it is a Honda 500AF with yellow plastic!!
-
It is a 2014 RMZ 450 frame with cr500 motor. Travis is a beast and so fun to watch check out this vid from his nitro circus youtube channel. 4:25 favorite part.

He just lost in the tiebreaker to Hansen. That 2nd run he had was impressive tho. That 500 was pulling the 450's no problem.
-
That sucks i was wanting him to take 1st (obvious lol). How did stewart and dungey do?
-
Stewarts(both) are dominating. It's still on btw. here is the link

Getting out of work now or id be watching it
-
I think if one of the pros was riding that 500 it would be great to watch.
You can tell Travis doesn't have the technique the pros do but it proved that 2 strokes can be competitive

Travis is and was a pro he just hasn't raced mx since early 2000's. Stewart and dungey train and practice daily.
-
I don't think any of today's pro's would even run that bike...they would be scared of it. Travis is a beast and has an amazing amount of talent. I don't think anyone imo would have ran that bike any better then him.
-
him riding that 500 was just for fun im sure because he likes to do off the wall crazy shit like that. im thinking his chances of winning were slim regardless of what bike. most them guys are near or in their prime. travis best days are long gone. still a hell of a rider though
-
The art of the scrub has changed the game from Travis day a bit. Even he said that when he was helping on the broadcast. If these were his prime days he would be one of the the scrubbers out there. He was and is very gifted on a scooter and could of been even faster with a dialed in modern top pro scrub technique.
-
Travis was always blazing fast over the jumps, whoops and straights. He just wasn't the best in the corners and wrecked quite a bit. He was sure fun to watch though.
-
im sure he would of been faster on a different bike like what the other guys were riding. more than anything i think he was just there to have fun with little intention of actually winning. showing up on a 500 2t seemed to confirm that theory, atleast in my mind
-
It was just for publicity. Red Bull is great for that.
Travis is the man for sure. Had he had the techniques the CURRENT pros had, he had the bike to win. Would have been great if he could have made it a couple more rounds
-
watched the whole thing, the event was great. that second run travis had when he was way behind and pulled way out ahead in the last whoops section for the win was epic, not to mention rubbing salt in the wounds with the backflip. that shit was awesome :)
i tried chromecasting from my chrome browser on laptop, but i couldnt find the button. going to have to DL the red bull app, this new series of events they have look to be exciting.

Pastrana GoPro footage of win and backflip:

I watched it on my Xbox. They have a Red Bull app that you can watch it on
-
I didnt know that. I watched on the desktop. Bummer, the living room tv and xbox was sitting there all mine through that time too.
-
I know this is unrelated but I thought this red bull video was pretty cool after watching Pastranas.
