Title: good arens/lsr deal for someone
Post by: j@y on October 03, 2014, 02:41:50 AM
http://macon.craigslist.org/cto/4631953716.html

Ive talked to the owner once or twice and he says its been in the corner of his garage the past 6 years. He says it ran when he parked it and shouldn't need much to fire her up. I believe he'll take around 2500-3000. I was looking to get it but decided to continue my build. I figured I'd pass on to a fellow member

Located near Macon GA

Ah man, I'd be jumping up and down if this was local to me! Looks super clean and probably just needs a carb cleaning and fluids changed.

So who pulled the trigger on it? To find the CL ad it had to be typed a certain way. I believe that's why he sat on it for so long

Ok, a little update.  Since I'm sure everyone wants to know, he was asking 3500, I paid 3k.  I have a project I've been working on and my intentions are to make the best bike I can out of this one and mine.  Mainly will be a chassis upgrade for me...I'm currently running a stock 86 frame, A-arms and swing arm, freshly rebuilt/revalved Elka stage 3 fronts and stock rear.

As for the bike, there is a lot of nice stuff on it, but it's not all peaches and cream.  The 2 of the 3 motor mounts need to be repaired, and also there has been a repair on the frame at the left footpeg.
The cylinder looks good, but has very low compression (60lbs) and it has a 73.45 piston, aka last bore.  I'm wondering if the compression is low because it has sat for so long?

Here are some other details:

40mm pwk (52 dgh-4th 200)
Cr ignition
Bills MX pipe and silencer
Laeger a-arms/swingarm

Since I've never made an intro or posted pics of my current 250r maybe I'll do that.  If anyone has any suggestions about this chassis/shock setup that would be great too.
