What does this silencer look lime inside? Is it like the turbine core just longer? Need spark arestor here and quiet. I ate thy pretty quiet compared to anything else out there?
-
I have one that I'm not using if you are interested

They are both a turbine core and longer. I modded one by removing the the sparky stuff and replaced it with more perforated tube. It was definitely quieter than a standard silencer and was still labeled as spark arrested. I don't know what it was like before because I modded it prior to use.

It has a china hat inside (excuse my reference) So the exhaust goes down and hits the cone(hat) then travels around to go out the back. They stick some extra packing around the cone, thats what makes it longer.

My q-silencer with the trx5 pipe was 95db last time I had it checked (2 over the limit here) but quiet enough for johnny law & ranger rick.

My old 89 trx race pipe & fat boy was 118 at idle, it sounded bada$$!

With a Turbine core and pipe on a stock machine I was 94 idling and 105 at 4250 RPM with the Wisconsin DNR test. $180 fine. I know people have put is on a ATC. I just wish some one would build quiet spark arrested silencer for ATC 250R I think there is a market for them not thousands but in time everywhere will be like Wisconsin and Michigan. The obnoxious 4 strokes will really ruin it.

Do they test for a sparky by the "wire test" or labeling on silencer. If it's labeling then forestry approval would be required.
-
they look for the stamp even though they dont know what it means and when I got stopped the warden looked in with a flashlight and told me at least I had the screen in there on my turbine core lol!! he poked a stick in and said he could feel it too.

Here are a couple of stabilized dyno test comparing the FMF Q series on a PRO-X 310 cylinder and the ESR Silencer that was made for that pipe.
