At another site that I used to frequent, there was a section called fight club. It was passworded so the mods decided who to let in. It was a place where to put a rant or let a couple keyboard cowboy's go at it.
Have you thought about having a section like that?
-
I really like this idea lol
-
i was a member on a different atv model specific forum that had a VIP section, mostly full of NSFW threads, including a member who was a midlevel pornographer and posted some of his work daily LOL
-
"NSFW', whats that?
Not Safe For Work

We had a smut/NSFW/anything goes, password protected area of the last forum I was on as well. It seemed to generate quite a bit of traffic :Boobies2::jumprope::jumping0041:

I don't see anybody here blasting each other just a section to vent and the NSFW stuff. I really liked that
We had the tuesday thread
-
I always felt like a place to argue wasn't necessary. I guess I never thought we needed a place to be keyboard commandos
I agree
-
I thought we weren't supposed to talk about fight club?
-
We get along nicely here. I don't think a fight forum is needed. As for the nsfw stuff. There are other web sites for that.

One word, Respect.
That will stand us apart from any other site.

Agreed, and just to let you know this option was presented to us when the site began. Its not here because it did not seem to be needed. We are here to promote our prized hobby, not have fights as to who is doing it right. You learn something new everyday. Hard to do that while fighting. Leave your EGO at the door.

Thanks for the idea The_Steve_Man. Like others have said, whether it's a "fight club" or NSFW pictures, it's not really what we want on a 250R website.
-
Awwwww man. So no :Boobies2:?

I understand. That is why I am here. It was just a thought after what happened and what I see on the chat that is out in the public.
I have learned more from the guys on this site, Neil, Jerry, Arlan, and the other guys that I don't know there name, about the 250r engine since I have been here than I have learned since I have been riding.

There is a fight club in every neighborhood. All of the guys that are insecure and worried that "theirs" is not big enough usually frequent these bars every week end to try to prove their manhood. Their good judgment is clouded by alcohol and or drugs and things are said that will never be forgotten. Guys go to a online fight club and their identity is somewhat anonymous so they sometimes have more courage than when they are filled with liquid courage at the local bar. What is said and the resulting resentment, attitudes, grudges etc in the special sections (fight clubs) of these forums always spills over into the rest of the site. Eventually the whole site is a fight club or a ghost town.
I came to this site to share some of my painful and expensive experiences because it seemed to be a place of mature guys that checked their attitudes at the door of this site and want to learn. The web is full of the other sites that are filled with the for mentioned insecure, arrogant, unteachable enthusiast that will always be ignorant because their pride will not allow them to open their ears and close their mouths long enough to learn something new.
If this site becomes like most of the other enthusiast sites, I will find another site where the guys are serious about helping each other and trying to do what is good for the sport and not trying to cash some checks that their mouth's/keyboard wrote.

The chat box is not "public" meaning that not everyone can view the chat box. We had many problems with Carlos and his group of vigilantes. So Jon limited it to those who are on this forum to offer help to everyone that happens to need it. The chat box is just BSing as our day progresses. Not everyone spends the time to pay attention to it. If you have something useful for everyone else we suggest starting a thread so the topic can be looked up and get other experienced comments to help us make the right decision when working on the bike. A thanks to all the members here that help us all out on a daily basis.

That is what it was called there. It was acually a great site and I liked it more than another one. They just had a section for that stuff. Most people didn't even go in there. I didn't mean to offend anybody.
