Hey guys, I recently started becoming interested in the 250R. Seems like a great quad and is one of the only affordable ones. Just wondering if $500 for an '88 is a good deal. Guy said it runs and starts up and I was just wondering if it's a reliable bike. Thanks!

that is a smoking deal. I would be all over it. also welcome
-
there may be some hidden things he isnt telling you, throw up some pics and we can give it a once over for ya to see if we spot anything fishy
-
Ok I'll see if I can get some pictures from him. Thank you for the help.

$500 seams too good. If you start hanging out with us you will get infected with the mod bug and end up spending thousands lol

Welcome to the site. Tons of helpful people and information here. And one thing you will learn quick, we love pictures!

Welcome to the site. There r deals out there lke that because some people don't know What they got. To them it's just a 1988 Atv.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I'm gonna try to upload pics when I get them and I hope that the quad works, because I'd love to have it cheap.

Welcome!! Even if it doesn't run you got yourself an amazing deal (if it turns out to be the Honda trx250r). If you pass on it don't be shy in forwarding the info :) But I'd rather you get it and join the forum permanently!

aloha! buy it!
-
I'm gonna get some more info tomorrow, but if I decide to pass, I'll gladly give you guys the info.

Welcome. Buy it. If it has a good bottom end, frame and okay plastics you're stealing it. Hell, $500 of be happy with a good frame and tires.
Onto the mod bug.... $12k and counting here! It goes as far as your imagination and wallet will take you!

Wow, $12,000. That's insane. Is that from repairs or for pleasure? I have a moped and I've put easily over $1000 into it for pleasure but that's about the most I can do.

I like my method of modifying. Just do it as funds permit. I don't keep track of how much I put into my toys. do not want it to take the enjoyment out of it.

newbie here, great site

Jared, I haven't counted my engine rebuilds. Just initial trade value I got it for and the small fortune of a build that I did. It all adds up and im still going. This is also not paying retail on a single thing.

Hick, when I bought my parts I was on a $7500 budget so I had to keep track. I also listed everyone that I bought it from. I obviously blew that budget!
Now it is kind of mod as I go.
Jared, just take your time and do it right for the way you ride. There's lots of builds here with many different budgets. Plenty of great people with extensive knowledge on here to lend a hand.
