Title: New '01 CR Ignition
Post by: nathan89 on November 09, 2014, 10:55:49 AM
I have a brand new 01 CR ignition that I am going to install on my '86. I see the grommet where the wire comes out of the case cover is a bit larger on the CR then on the TRX. What do you guys do to get the CR grommet to fit correctly in the TRX case cut-out? Thanks guys.

I used a sharp razor blade on mine to make the notch deeper so the cover would seal up.

use a new razor and cut it...with stator cover off, slowly trim it away until it is just a tiny bit larger then opening so it seals good

for a budget woods you are better off keeping stock trx250r now if you don't mind spending some serious  coin a 2001 cr250r with weighted flywheel would be a nice improvement ....but for a budget a stock trx 250r system in the woods is about as good as you can get as long as its not 26 years old...   and no you cant use a trx250r dynatek cdi with any cr250r components

No, you cannot mix CR ignition with the trx ignition.
