I just picked up a nice 86 Atc 250r and now I'm getting it ready for winter riding.

Here she is, I've done a lot of work to it since I purchased it.

I love the 350x headlight, it looks so much better than stock.
-
Thanks, ya I like the look
-
Very solid looking Trike, love it! And yes, the headlight is clever looking!
-
Welcome. Fellow triker here. I like the pipe guard.
-
Thanks for all the good words, she has hade a lot of love the past few week. The pipe guard is off of my SH cr500af, my next upgrade is inverted forks.
-
I think you can get those guards aftermarket. I have seen a few on different bikes. I want some inverts as well.
ATCs RULE!
-
Vey nice trike. A lot of great people on on here with a wealth of information to help out if need be.

Are you going to be riding ice or snow?
-
Mostly snow
-
Cool.
I'm setting mine up for ice, and was looking for some tips.
Good looking trike BTW.
-
Thanks, from what I've seen around here lowering your trike or quad and a good set of studded tires would be a must. I was running a snow bike convertion on my cr500 last winter and I found the carb would freeze up so I wrapped the carb and cylinder together, I never hade a problem after.
(http://forums.trx250r.org/vbulletin_imports/1164_3884_2017-04-18_2052.jpg) It went good and handled great in powder not so good on hard packed.

That bike kicks ass!
In all of your winter motorsports adventures, have you or any friends, used nylon nuts inside your tires to help hold screws in?
I tried a couple #10-24 nuts last night, and can't get much more than finger tight before they end up just spinning.
-
The snow bike is hard to ride at first but real fun! No I have not tried nylon nut, I use ice screws or sled ice picks. If you try the ice picks I highly recommend guards over the tires so your legs can't get cot up in them if you come off the bike.
