Just wondering what tires and sizes you guys find work best for a nice xc setup? I'm currently trying to find a nice set of 9" rears. Was thinking maxis razr2 fronts 21", and 20" rears? This a good setup, or would you guys recommend something else?

I run 20 rears 21 fronts. I used to run razr 2s. You should try the gbc xc tires exactly the same as 2s and the rears are lighter. Half the cost.

tires are as much a personal choice as oil type , stroke or not to stroke, types of plastic and colors to run or not run race fuel...a lot comes down to your preference and conditions of where and what and how you ride..these things you need to figure out to find what is your best tire, and size
I personally like the sizes you have mentioned, and I like holeshot GNCC tires, but hate the rest of the holeshot line up for XC.
I don't like razors I think they are too heavy, but with heavy comes a strong sturdy long lasting tire...
I like light rims (yes that bend) and a light soft tire that wears ..but when a tire is wearing down that means its biting in,
I've had tires that would last forever(relators) super strong and super heavy, but didn't get traction to save my life..
tires are a compromise in what YOU want, just know that a long lasting tire as a rule doesn't have the same traction as one that wears down quicker, and a heavy tire adds rotating mass..so you have to ask yourself what exactly you are looking for in a tire,
because as far as I know the perfect tire doesn't exists, one that is light, gets great traction in all conditions, and lasts a long time, and of course isn't expensive,...lol

alot of people I've talked to love the Razr 2 up front but not so much on the back. Too much grip, harder to slide when you want too. Mind you that these were guys that were fairly fast, raced A, B classes.

Can't go wrong with the race proven setup of Razr2 in the front and original Razr in the rear
-
That's true. It's a real mixture of what I ride, but nothing insane. So just looking for a good all around tire. Was leaning towards the maxxis. Need to find some rear rims first lol.

The Duro Berm Raider was good for me. Great hook up and decent wear rate. I do believe after any tire wears below half, it's time for new. It sucks that a new tire only last for half the life! :dispirited:

I've used razr, razr 2,some cheap house brand from moto sport and in my opinion nothing compares to the gncc holeshots front and back. 21 front 20 rear can't go wrong

Well I decided on razr 2 front and rears. 21" fronts, 20" rears. Love it so far, but won't know just how much till spring lol
