I just recently got my first R which im stoked about! so ive been going through everything just to make sure everything checks out. anyways i was lifting up the rear end to move the bike around and it seemed like there might be a little bit of play at full extension in the linkage.  farely new to the r so i was just wondering if this is normal or if i should try and tighten it up some?

Any excessive play is definitely not normal. Maybe have someone else lift the rear of the bike up and down until you find the pivot point that actually has play in it.

Check the swingarm pivot bolt and the linkage mounts
