Title: 2015 lrd/led duner
Post by: mandom250r on January 27, 2015, 10:07:15 PM
Here is another project im working on. I like things to match so this LRD frame will have a LED engine. Since the frame is lightweight and needs some work ive decided to keep it a duner. For now i need to strip the frame and get it fixed and im going with a all black theme. Here are some pics of some of the progress i got done today.
This first pic is what it looks like now but i started to take things apart. The parts on the frame will not be used and will be saved for a desert build in the future.

Took out my spare bottom end and found that the lower case saver mount was cracked. Dont really know if i should be pissed or not because i plan on running a 15 tooth sprocket with no case saver anyway. I took the stock ignition and the clutch out. No need for that stuff anymore since they will be replaced with some real goodies. Im sending this to LED tomorrow and will be including a 2001 cr250 stator and flywheel with esr adaptor plate, hinson clutch basket/plates with slingshot, esr reeds and some gary holland billet shift forks.

I'm excited to see this build come to fruition. Especially to see how that 363 runs.

What pipe are you going with?

Got some stuff done yesterday and today. Yesterday i striped the chassis bare and got it ready to ship out but before i did that i took it to work and weighed it so you all can see what a LRD attitude chassis weighs

You won't want an OOF pipe if there's any tree shots where you ride anyway? Are there any trees where you ride?? Oregon has these cool ass treeshots where you ride down in between the trees have a very and when I when I say very small area for error when turning around thats what I mean if you're off a couple inches on some of them into the bushes you will go!!! and with an OOF pipe you'd never be able to get turned around on alot of them!! But if you don't have any tree shots don't worry about it. Unless u plan on coming to Oregon?
 Thanks Higgy

no trees in el paso only bushes, tumble weeds and mesquites with thorns about an inch long. If you fall in one of those its like falling in a roll of barbed wire lol. I dont have any real updates for this as i told arlan to take his time because i dont have a good LRD chassis for it anyway. He got my cylinder back from Milenium and took my bottom end apart and found one of my transmission shafts was bad so he has one on order.

Thanks for the compliments fellas but unfortunately im planning on using this arens frame for now. My mind is still set on a all flat black with carbon fiber parts. Would like to redo it later with a LRD black anodized frame if i can find one. Took this quik pic before i hung it up on the roof as i have no room in my garage for all these projects im working on.

Help me beat up on Arlan for some stainless pipes. I was fairly close to talking him into it. I have the raw pipe too. They are fairly easy to care for, a little scotch brute and oil, but it does lose to heat tells, which are the sexy part of a raw pipe, in my opinion. Stainless would solve it.

What happened to the LRD frame? I thought you had one.

Best regards
-Jason

ive thought of clear coating the pipe before i use it so maybe it can keep its colors. Dont know if hi temp clear paint or powder coat clear will work.

I still have my LRD frame but i let a buddy borrow it and hes going to get it fixed for me. While he was using it he noticed it cracked a little more so thats one reason i dont want to run that frame with this motor. Other reason is i plan on doing everything black so it would be stupid to powder over my chrome subframe. I tried trading subframes with Higgy but they were not interchangable.
