Title: Dielectric grease question

I am putting my quad back together and it is suggested that I use dielectric grease when hooking the stator wire (or any electric components for that matter) back together.  It might be a stupid question but is bulb grease the same a dielectric grease.  I have some bulb grease laying around from when I changed a taillight in my car and the principle seems the same as for dielectric grease(prevent corrosion and early failure).  Curious if anyone knows if it is the same crap or if I need to go to the store.  Thanks for any help.

Should be consistent. But bulbs typically are quite sealed in their location. That being said, my money is on they are the same. I'd run it

That was my train of thought.  If it's good enough for the car I drive every day it should work the bike that spends more days in the garage than out.  I am kinda mean to it when I take it out though :devilish:

If it is the yellow stuff, then it is not the same. It has dielectric properties but it will harden over time. The little packet that you put on your battery terminals however is dielectric grease.
