What does it take to do it correctly? I have 2 sets of 400EX spindles sitting here that I could use. Plus I have 2 86's. Perfect match, right?

You must either use 400ex or yfz calipers, or buy the 400ex/250R adapter brackets for the calipers.
You must run 400ex hubs, or if you want to use 88/89 hubs you have remove or install the tapperd spacer between the bearings.

Where are these said caliper brackets? I'll have to look into the hub situation because one bike is stock and the other has LSR's. Not sure which year lsr though.

I think i saw some used the other day on facebook, not sure they where any cheaper. They are an expensive option. Cheapest is to do the YFZ caliper that bolts direclty to the 400ex spindle. Gives you dual pistons, and much cheaper. I run 400ex spindles on both my 250R's and have the adapters to use the stock calipers. No complaints here.

Steve was selling the adptors. They have since been sold.
