What is the mounting difference between an 87 and an 88-89 frame regarding footpegs and nerfs? Would there be a shit-ton of modifications to make these work or is it simply not worth the effort? Doesn't seem to be a whole lotta options for nerfs for an 87. Thinking I may run without the damn things, idk. Thanks.

`86-`87 frames have the footpegs bolted on the `88-`89 frames have peg mounts similar to a dirtbike peg mount that swings up out of the way if impacted. you can make mounts for prop,eg nerfs pretty easy or im sure someone around here has a set of mounts tossed in a corner i just gave a set to a buddy of mine for his R or would have been able to give you those

So it's literally just a matter of making footpeg plates with chromoly round stock welded on? And the nerfs attach to those? Sweet. Thanks for the info.

with chromoly round stock .
or just mild steel will work fine :)

These are 88 on an 87. Just cut the threaded bung off both sides slide a pipe thru( mild steel from Lowes will work fine) and burn a small weld around it. Very simple. It Also places the pegs in a better location. Then u will need a large washer and one of your original footpeg bolts for your rear brake lever. While u r at it u could make a front propeg mount also(http://forums.trx250r.org/vbulletin_imports/42_4810_2017-04-18_3077.jpg)
The tpop pick was done for a quick last minute fix to ride as I had No pegs or nerfs. It could have been a little better craftsmanship and closer to frame but I didn't want to cut the tabs off nerfs since it was temporary

I just clicked the link on your original post and realized the type of ac nerfs u r looking at my info won't work. Those pegs can b used with or without the nerfs.
