Is there any correlation between the distance between the actual reed mounting point and the intake of the cyl. I have to use two spacer plates on a Boyesen Rad valve to get the intake tube to reach the box. I'm using a 38mm PWK. With the two spacer plates which sets the reeds quite a bit further back than stock ( about an inch ). I tried a stock intake boot but I just don't care for the fit on a 38mm. I'm just wondering if I am sacrificing performance with the reeds set like this. Thanks Ron

why not just go to auto parts store and pick up a longer hose for the rad valve to carb joint that way you are not effecting the reeds in any way ?

Are you sure you have all the correct parts? What cylinder are you running? I have boyesen setup on my bike (ESR 330) 38mm air Stryker with no spacer plate at all and it's almost to long.. I have to take my air box off to get the carb to fit between the 2 boots and when it's all back in place it has a slight kink by the rear shock (more then what's supposed to be). My setup fits very TIGHT! Your bike will run fine being spaced back but you will prob Lose a little power compared to what it could produce, but your reeds should last longer
